BMP’s former co-executive director, Frances Kunreuther, and BMP’s Director of Race Equity Assessment, Mercedes Brown Esq., penned a blog with Candid covering two key findings from the Race to Lead report, Blocking the Backlash:
– The more DEI strategies an organization employed, the higher both BIPOC and white respondents rated their workplace experience.
– BIPOC respondents were more likely than white respondents to rate DEI strategies as effective.
The Race to Lead Series of the Building Movement Project provides data on representation of leaders of color in the nonprofit sector, showing a persistent leadersip gap in the small percentage of people of color in Executive Director / CEO roles.
