• Governance Roles & Responsibilities: This session covers the fundamentals of nonprofit governance, outlining the board’s role in the governance of an organization. Topics covered include general board duties, officer positions, meetings and committees, and the board-staff relationship.
• Engaging your Board in Fundraising: A passionate and well-informed board is essential to successful fundraising. In this session, we build our understanding of basic fundraising principles and strategies, and learn how to tell the story of our nonprofit in a way that builds support.
• Finance & Compliance Fundamentals: This session covers basic/introductory nonprofit financial principles, terms, and reports; the importance of financial policies and procedures; common regulatory compliance issues; and sample key financial indicators.
• Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging: Belonging comes when people feel psychological safety and comfort being who they are within our organization. This session will discuss how a nonprofit board of directors can (and must!) be leaders and cultural changemakers within an organization.
