Continental Breakfast & Networking at 8:00
Presentation at 8:30
A welcoming and inclusive organization supports an organization's overall success. This does not come automatically; it must be designed with great intentionality. The desired outcome is to create a wider pool of strategies, thinking, experience, contacts, and resources. Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment is central to tapping into these resources. In addition, it benefits the entire organization. This session of the Diversity Leaders Network will not only provide an overview of organizational welcoming and inclusion, but also suggest specific steps and strategies for building an open and inclusive culture where greater diversity can take root.
Learn to:
- Utilize your personal experience to promote inclusion
- Connect greater client diversity to greater organizational diversity
- Identify what cultural practices among your staff may be exclusive
- Strengthen staff skills in creating and functioning in an inclusive manner
- Envision celebrating staff and organizational diversity
- Understand steps that can be taken right away to be more welcoming
