Paula Manley Consulting
Nonprofit boards of directors serve the common good by stewarding public resources in trust for the communities they serve. High functioning boards are mission-focused, working in partnership with staff leaders to support their organizations and fulfill essential governance duties.
In this highly participatory workshop we'll explore the rewards of board service and the fundamentals of board development. Learn to:
- Understand your organization’s strategic environment
- Assess your nonprofit’s board recruitment needs
- Effectively recruit and orient new board members
- Foster a board culture that values learning, relationships, and results
- Engage board members with meaningful challenges and opportunities that contribute to mission achievement
We will incorporate the experiences of workshop participants to understand common pitfalls, promising practices, and proven methods for developing effective nonprofit boards that draw on the values, skills, and connections of their members.
