These two half-day workshops will provide advanced skills for an effective and sustainable volunteer program. Join us for the full day, or attend either the morning or afternoon session.
“Working with the 21st Century Volunteer”
8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The twenty-first century calls for an expanded definition of what it means to be a volunteer, and new systems for recruitment and management. Rather than pre-defined positions, organizations are pressed to engage and empower highly skilled and motivated people to help fulfill their mission. This session will explore:
- Generational differences in volunteers
- Entrepreneurial volunteers
- Short-term programs and projects for those with specific skills
“Promoting Your Volunteer Program”
1:00 to 4:30 p.m.
You may have the best volunteer program in town, but do potential volunteers know about it—and does your own organization understand its value? This workshop will explore:
- Promotion of your program to specific audiences
- Managing expectations
- Working with organizational culture
- Measuring what matters
