Ecotrust Conference Center 721 NW 9th Avenue
Portland

About this event

Scott Schaffer
Public Interest Management Group

Presentation & Continental Breakfast at 8:00
Networking at 9:30

In this workshop, nonprofit leaders will delve deeply into the concept of nonprofit business models, learn to assess the strengths and weaknesses of their own business model, and explore strategies for building an organization that is highly effective in its work and financially sustainable. The format is interactive and based on a case study, with a group exercise and discussion. Attendees will leave with tools to assess their organization and a clear understanding of how to generate and evaluate strategic alternatives.

Specifically, we’ll review:

  • A framework for forming organizational strategy
  • Two practical tools for assessing sustainability—the Dual Bottom-Line Matrix and Matrix Mapping
  • Advanced approaches nonprofit executives may consider in future business planning.
