“Lessons Learned: Gift Planning Through the Ages” will be presented on Friday, June 6 by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Oregon & Southwest Washington Chapter (“AFP”). Doors open at 11 a.m. Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by the program from noon to 1:15 p.m. The event will be held at the Multnomah Athletic Club, 1849 SW Salmon Street in downtown Portland.

Jeff Comfort, Vice President, Principal Gifts and Gift Planning, Oregon State University Foundation, will discuss the centuries-long history of planned giving and the lessons that can be applied to today’s philanthropy and
future giving. A national leader in the field of planned giving, Comfort joined the OSU Foundation in January 2013 after an 18-year career at
Georgetown University where he managed gift planning efforts that resulted in more than $500 million in donations. Prior to his work at Georgetown University he directed the gift planning program for the National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver for 11 years. He has held numerous local and national positions in planned giving professional associations.

The cost for the event is $35 for AFP members and $50 for nonmembers. Tables of 8 are available for $350. Pre-registration is required. Online
