Strategic Restructuring Cohort: Business Remodeling for Sustainability

Virtual
  • : $Sliding Scale Pricing (Starts at $250)

About this event

Challenges to funding and staffing have become commonplace in nonprofits over the past several years. With system-wide federal funding cuts to many core community programs, many organizations are facing an unprecedented disruption to services and operations. This is not a situation that our sector can fundraise our way out of. It will take fundamental changes to nonprofits’ business models and forecasting for multiple scenarios. Our next step builds on previous programming, including NAO’s Facing the New Reality: Strategic Paths for Nonprofits and in-person workshops. We have expanded this topic into a learning cohort that allows for deeper exploration, discussion, and direct one-on-one support from trusted consultant partners.

This cohort will bring together a group of nonprofit leaders and seasoned experts for both group conversations and direct one-on-one support. The overarching goal of this cohort is to directly support the implementation of business remodeling strategies to improve participating nonprofits’ sustainability during this challenging era

Cohort Meeting Dates

The cohort will convene as a group via Zoom for the following dates:

  1. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
  2. Tuesday, April 28, 2026, 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
  3. Tuesday, May 19, 2026, 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
  4. Wednesday, June 3, 2026, 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM

Additional group dates may be proposed as needed, at a date and time determined together with cohort participants.

One-on-one Support

In addition to group sessions, each participating organization shall receive up to 5 hours of 1:1 consulting with one of the cohort facilitators. Consulting hours will be scheduled directly by the participating organization with a cohort facilitator, at a date and time that works for both parties.

Participation Guidelines

  • Enrollment is limited to approximately 10 organizations. We encourage two senior-level leaders from each organization to participate, if possible.
  • At least one participant from each organization must attend all group cohort meetings.
  • This cohort is primarily intended to support Oregon-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits.
  • The content provided is a best fit for those with an annual operating budget of more than $1M.
  • Participants are required to have attended the March 9th “Strategic Restructuring” workshop or watched the content via the livestream or recording.
  • Conversations will be held as confidential to allow for depth and breadth of exploration.

Because space is limited and participation guidelines apply, new registrations will be placed in a brief review status. Once your registration has been reviewed, you will receive an email with a link to a web page where you can complete the registration and payment process.
