Building a Learning Organization

Maximizing Capacity and Fostering Innovation
Online Event

About this event

NAO’s Nonprofit Capacity in Oregon Report signals persistent pressure in the areas most tied to sustainability: people capacity and resources. Many organizations reported vulnerability in leadership succession planning, consistent professional development, and the downstream impacts of turnover, efficiency constraints, and capability gaps. Team and individual well-being also remains a concern.

This interactive webinar introduces a practical approach for becoming a learning organization: a people-first, dynamic and proactive culture that intentionally builds capability while delivering results without adding unnecessary complexity or burden.

Key Outcomes
Participants will leave with:

  1. A clear understanding of what a learning organization is, the value it brings, and why it is a practical capacity-building tool for nonprofits under resource pressure.
  2. An understanding of “Headwinds” that hold learning back as well as “Levers” that can help propel learning.
  3. A practical framework for action: a five-layer pathway that connects mindset, culture, learning infrastructure, team learning, and individual learning to foster more effective learning that sticks, supports adaptability, and leverages the talent of the whole team.
  4. A brief Learning Organization Reflective Scan (with follow-up steps) to identify where learning is currently getting stuck and where to start.
  5. Light “do-now” homework: one small practice participants can apply immediately to improve your team’s learning environment over the next seven days.

Best suited for: Executive directors, program and operations leaders, people/HR leaders, and managers responsible for building capability, consistency, and retention.

Cost

$40 for NAO Members
$60 for Nonmembers
