Stay Relevant: Evaluate Your Impact to Tell Your Story

Inn at the Commons 200 N Riverside Avenue
Medford

About this event

Vanessa A. Becker, Senior Principal Consultant
V Consulting & Associates

Lunch & Networking at 11:30
Presentation at 12:00

We are drawn to our work because we believe passionately in our cause and want to make a difference. To engage volunteers, develop donor relationships, and promote our organizations, we often rely on storytelling that speaks to this passion. Our enthusiasm for our work is so great that it is hard to imagine that anyone wouldn’t be moved to support us!

Now, in the face of greater need, fewer resources, and increasing competition, donors and supporters who were traditionally moved by emotive storytelling are starting to ask “what changes in my community because your organization is here?”

With this shifting tide in our nonprofit world, promotion of our organizations is becoming less about what we “do” and more about what we “change” because of what we do. We must articulate our impact, how we evaluate our services and programs, and the difference we make in our communities.

Identifying and measuring impact can be quite simple and compelling. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to keep your organization relevant in shifting tides. We’ll discuss:

  • Fine-tuning your story to keep people engaged
  • Identifying simple and concise measures of impact
  • Ways to connect your story with your impact, and keep donors and funders engaged in your mission
