Beyond the Hype: Hands-On with Modern AI

About this event

This interactive workshop introduces nonprofit staff to the promises and perils of emerging artificial intelligence tools, with particular attention to how these tools can (and can’t!) accelerate their everyday work in the nonprofit sector. Bring your computer to do some practical exercises to familiarize yourself with different gen AI tools — think ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot, and Gemini — in a relaxed, group setting. In the process, we’ll refine our skills in prompt engineering — the art of telling AI what you want it to give you — as well as in detecting bias and limitations of these tools.

This session is for folks who have heard of artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT but haven’t found the time, resources, or support to explore them on a practical level. It’s for nonprofit staff who believe that this tech can help them do their work more efficiently, and who want to do so in a safe and responsible way.

*This is a hands-on session, so bring your computer and be ready to talk to AI!*

Cost

$40 NAO Members
$60 for Nonmembers
