Katrina Van Dis is a seasoned community development innovator and advocate for rural resilience and food security. Raised on a cherry orchard in Eastern Oregon, her early experiences shaped a lifelong dedication to sustainable food systems, rural equity, and ecological and economic interdependence. As the founder and principal consultant of Ensoterra, Katrina provides sliding-scale consulting services to nonprofits, for profits and community-based organizations, using her entrepreneurial flair and systems-thinking approach to translate big‑picture ideas into actionable projects. She is also the founder of the High Desert Food & Farm Alliance and co‑founder of the Oregon Community Food Systems Network, where she has led regional food access initiatives, public–private partnerships, and advocacy for small-scale producers since 2008 . Bringing more than 25 years of experience in grant writing, nonprofit leadership, economic & community development, and ecological economics, Katrina helps multi-sector organizations align mission, impact, and funding systems.
