Imagine a World without Cancer!
Directors Mortgage presents the 2014 Portland Hope Ball on March 15th at the Portland Art Museum. This year we will host over 400 people at a spectacular event featuring great food, drink, auctions, and a veritable who’s who of Portland.
The American Cancer Society is focused on three main objectives:
• Preventing cancer
• Curing cancer and reducing fatality rates
• Caring for patients with cancer
The American Cancer Society is one of the largest funders of cancer research, second only to the US Government. It has invested nearly $6 million to date with Oregon researchers and partially funded Dr. Brian Druker of OHSU’s research, which resulted in the invention of the drug Gleevec. This drug has reduced fatalities from chronic myelogenous leukemia from 97% to 3%!
