About this event

Storytelling is a key tool for sharing the work of our nonprofits and raising the funds necessary to keep us going. At their best, the stories we share can unite all corners of our community to solve issues and improve the lives of our most vulnerable. At their worst, stories can further disempower and disconnect us, impeding or even reversing our progress. In this session, we will discuss how to tell our stories in compelling, ethical ways that advance our mission.

Attendees will come away with a deeper understanding of these topics:

  • Consider who should be the hero of the story you’re telling. (Is there one hero, or might there be many?)
  • Consider reframing the story to focus on mutual aid.
  • Ensure the people who feature in the story have given permission for their story to be told.

Cost

$45 NAO Members
$75 for Nonmembers

This event is Network Pass eligible.
