About this event

Preparing for the year-end close can be a complex process for nonprofits, but understanding common pitfalls can make all the difference. Join us for a comprehensive training that will not only help you avoid critical mistakes and ensure a smooth financial close, but also set the stage for a successful new fiscal year, filled with opportunities and growth.

Participants will learn about:

  1. 1099 Compliance: Many nonprofits mistakenly believe they are exempt from 1099 contractor rules. We will clarify when and why these forms are necessary to keep your organization compliant and avoid potential penalties.
  2. Payroll: We will review the essential elements of payroll management, including state and federal tax compliance and accurate, timely processing.
  3. Restricted Funds: We will cover best practices for accurately tracking and managing these funds over multiple fiscal years.
  4. Full Balance Sheet Review: Ensure your balance sheet accounts match third-party documentation to maintain accuracy, reliability, and transparency in your financial statements.
  5. Improving Annual Reports: Having your accounting framework set up correctly helps streamline the creation of annual reports. We will discuss how to simplify reporting and improve the quality of your financial disclosures.

This training qualifies for 1.8 CPE credits in Management Services. Please see below for full details on how to earn CPE.
