About this event

This session will review several accounting challenges affecting nonprofit organizations in the current environment. We’ll walk through new and proposed accounting standards as well as review lessons learned from standards that have already been implemented. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Be able to identify change by Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) guidance and projects specific to nonprofit organizations
  • Be able to implement FASB’s Accounting Standards Update (ASU) 2023-08 Intangibles relating to Crypto Assets
  • Review current expected credit loss (CECL) and lease implementation challenges/lessons learned
  • Understand key takeaways and common mistakes when filing the Form 990

Continuing Professional Education Info

Participants will earn 2.4 CPE credits. To be awarded the full credit hours, participants must attend the entire session with their camera turned on and participate in the engagement activity. NAO will use the Attendance Taker Zoom app to monitor arrival times, departure times, and total time spent in the Zoom meeting.

  • Fields of Study: Accounting and Auditing 
  • Prerequisites: Basic understanding of financial reporting and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Advanced Preparation: None
  • Training Level: Update
  • Delivery Method: Group Live 

Refunds (minus a 25% handling charge) are available up to two business days prior to the training. Cancellations received after this time will not be refunded, but you may transfer your registration to another person who can attend.
