Emily Squires is a facilitator and consultant who works with organizations seeking to connect deeply with their values and understand their social justice ecosystems. Emily supports organizations in understanding their capacity for change and creating a culture of care, holding dignity and relationships at the center. The work is guided by an understanding that for organizational patterns and culture to shift there must first be a praxis of care.  Emily’s approach is rooted in community participatory practices, leadership development, and  recognition of power dynamics. Emily’s work has spanned demographics and scale, engaging a wide range of communities and organizations – from teens to executives, and small, rural non-profit programs to large governmental agencies, including project management, workshops, curriculum development, experiential learning, and strategy. Working with Emily will always include a consideration of our connections to history and contemporary contexts, an embrace of creativity, and opportunities to try, fail, listen deeply, and try again. Emily holds a BA in Community Engagement through the Arts and a BFA in Printmaking from the University of Michigan and an MFA in Studio Art from Washington University in St. Louis. Erica Briggs is a learning facilitator, DEIB consultant, community caretaker, creative artist, and writer. In each capacity, she is a storyteller, sharing connections that equip, inspire, and support healing and growth. Born and raised in Oregon, Erica has traversed the globe, living and working in various locations. Currently, she is a Nonprofit Education Specialist at NAO, the owner and residential manager of a co-operative living community, and the founder and CEO of a small arts and nature nonprofit based in Troutdale. As a single mother, she earned a BA in Communications at Mills College in Oakland, CA, and a Master's in Africana Studies at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, where she studied the social construction of race in America through literature. For over 25 years, she has served various roles in nonprofits, and both traditional and alternative learning environments from elementary through college. When she is at play, you will likely find her wandering in her garden, making a mess in her art studio, or hiking with her children to the nearest body of water.
