Workshop

Nail Your Networking: Making the Most of the ONLC Funder Roundtables

Online Event

About this event

Make the most of your chance to connect with funders at the 2024 Oregon Nonprofit Leaders Conference! Each year, ONLC offers an opportunity for participants to network with funders during the Funder Roundtables sessions. Each funder hosts a table, and attendees self-select which tables to join and will be asked to rotate throughout the session.

Not sure how to prepare? This webinar will guide you through how to make the most of your time, including creating a networking strategy and practicing your elevator pitch with confidence. We also advise doing research about participating funders (listed here) in advance and brainstorming questions to ask them.

What to Expect:

  • First, you’ll get oriented to the format and networking opportunities at the Funder Roundtables.
  • Next, we’ll go through some prompts to help you create a networking strategy so you can make the most of the session.
  • Then, we’ll introduce a format for a successful elevator pitch. You’ll have time to write one and then practice it in a breakout room.
  • Finally, we’ll reflect as a group, answer questions with the remaining time, and close the session.

What to Know or Bring:

  • This webinar is interactive and includes time in breakout rooms to practice your elevator pitch. Breakout rooms are an opportunity to create meaningful connections with other participants. If you do not feel like joining one for any reason, we’ll make sure you have something to do introspectively in the main room.
  • Bring a journal and pen if you like to brainstorm on paper.
  • If you already have an elevator pitch you plan on using to introduce yourself at the Funder Roundtables, bring it!
