About this event

This roundtable discussion will provide participants space to share their questions, challenges, and aspirations in cultivating equity within nonprofit organizations to inspire a dialogue around:

  • Assessing where your organization is starting from and identifying barriers to moving the work forward
  • Getting buy-in and leadership from people with decision-making power in your organization
  • Creating a shared understanding of the work (including shifting away from “DEI” jargon)
  • Combating tokenism, box-checking, and attitudes about mission creep
  • Resourcing the work with time, money, and staff (including getting the most out of your work with a consultant)
  • Changing systems and culture (including creating a culture that supports generative conflict)
  • Supporting ongoing work sustainably
  • Digging into common detours and obstacles to equity work

Allyship in Action will support participants in shaping the direction of the discussion and share themes, overarching strategies, and frameworks when possible. Participants will be able to submit their questions for this session in advance through a survey form they’ll receive upon registration.
