Consulting Partner at Capacity Building Partnerships
Learn moreDEI has become a popular term in some sectors and a demonized term in other sectors.
In these times, there may be ripe opportunities for the nonprofit sector to adjust our equity and inclusion work from an inadvertent focus on individual identity and diversity to an organizational focus on equity and inclusion. These are not mutually exclusive. And, what we lead with impacts where we go!
What might be different if we grounded our equity and inclusion analysis and action more in organizational change frameworks than in individual development models? Many nonprofits are doing this already. The intent here is not at all to diminish the necessity of individual development related to equity and inclusion, but to instead ground our analysis in the mission-driven and business model rationales for equity and inclusion. And to align our practices and behaviors in the outcomes that analysis calls for.
Please join us to explore the opportunities in these times, and how we might update our language and approaches based on what we are learning, practicing, and experiencing.
