Event Description

Title
Embracing a Courageous Workplace of Collaborative Feedback and Supportive Conflict

Facilitator
Kris McRea, McRea Coaching & Consulting

Do you avoid conflict or feedback? Does your team shy away from challenging conversations? More than ever, we need to be having messy conversations in our workplace to lean in to tough topics; especially around diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility and belonging. Feedback and collaborative conflict can be a bridge to trust building, innovation and collaboration when delivered with empathy, support and respect. The key is courage, vulnerability, and emotional literacy.

This intensive in-person workshop with Certified Dare to Lead Facilitator Kris McRea will demonstrate why a culture of collaborative feedback and supportive conflict is vital to the health and inclusion of our organizations. We will explore how our own mythology of vulnerability gets in the way, and how our emotions can be a powerful signpost to more connection and collaboration. With tactical tools from Dare to Lead, Crucial Conversations, Emotional Agility and other resources, you'll leave this workshop with stronger muscles for approaching conflict and feedback, as well as tangible tools that can support a more innovative workplace. Bring your challenging situations!

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the case for collaborative conflict and feedback as a vital ingredient for innovation, growth and inclusion.
  2. Understand how vulnerability and emotional literacy can be vital to difficult conversations.
  3. Learn how empathy and compassion can be trust-builders and thus the tonic towards a collaborative work environment.
  4. Recognize your personal mythologies of vulnerability as well as other cultures' challenges with vulnerability.
  5. Consider a variety of tools in your approach with feedback and conflict.
  6. Practice in scenarios and roleplays to shift your comfort with engaged feedback and collaborative conflict.

For accommodation requests, please contact us at [email protected]. Advanced notice of at least 10 days is appreciated.
