Understanding the Six Roles of an Ally

Online Event

About this event

Inclusive leaders not only focus on who needs support, but also how systems need to evolve to interrupt harmful practices that perpetuate an unequal playing field. In other words, the inclusive leader is committed in word and deed to making the workplace truly inclusive.

As a leader for Inclusion, leaders must become more public with their efforts to be bolder, challenging, and questioning systems that so many people have taken for granted. This inclusive stance becomes the new normal. Inclusive leaders know the language of inclusion, are comfortable in knowing that they will make mistakes, and others begin to follow along and gain inspiration from them.

Key Learning Objectives

  • Understand six identities of allyship
  • Learn to interrogate norms and ask inconvenient questions
  • Learn how to marshal commitment, build community and engage others in the work of DEI
  • Create an action plan to move forward
