Event Description

Title
Maximize the Power of Your Stories Across Earned and Owned Media Channels

Presenter
Sally Compton, Executive Director, Think Wild

When it comes to garnering support from our community, the stories we tell are one of our most significant assets. Think of your organization’s biggest stories – Why did they matter? How were they shared? How might you spread them even further next time? This session deeply delves into how to tell compelling stories that engage our communities and power our missions.

With a focus on digital media, we’ll explore:

  • The many different avenues for awareness and engagement, including earned (press, radio, television, podcasts, etc.) and owned (website, blog, social media, e-newsletter) media.
  • Strategies for crafting and maximizing your content to deliver the right message to the right audience at the right time.
  • Best practices for working with the press including building and maintaining a media list, writing effective press releases, and tips for identifying what’s newsworthy at your organization.
  • How to incorporate specific media goals and strategies into your annual work plan to ensure that you are maximizing each opportunity for awareness, engagement, and support.

For accommodation requests, please contact us at [email protected]. Advanced notice of at least 10 days is appreciated.
