From the rules for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations to the interrelationship between commercial enterprises and nonprofit organizations, this session explores a range of topics that allows us to assess social enterprise from many directions and determine the best approach. Topics include:
- Consolidation and formation of structures for new entities
- Unrelated business income tax (UBIT) implications
- Nonprofit and for-profit subsidiaries
About the Presenter
Dan Eller practices business and tax law in the Portland office of Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt. Dan’s practice includes an emphasis in the law of tax-exempt nonprofit organizations. Dan also assists for- and nonprofit organizations and individuals with a variety of tax planning and controversy matters.
