The Business of Freelance Grantwriting is a course for experienced writers who want to start a freelance grant writing or nonprofit consulting business. The class is also valuable for those who have already started a business and want to brush up on marketing and client management skills. The course has two components – an online, on-demand curriculum and an optional three-part group video conference series for deeper discussion and networking. The course walks you through starting a business, developing a business plan, marketing techniques, contracts, best practices for working with clients, handling sticky situations, and ethics. Find out whether it pays to volunteer, how to raise rates, strategies for working with busy nonprofits, and much more.
Investment is $129 per student and the three-week video conference series is June 7-21, 2021 on Mondays from 12-1pm PST. Nonprofit Associations of Oregon members receive a 10% discount.
