Join a group of your peers for this five-session interactive series and embark on a unique journey and learning experience into the world of grantwriting. Explore the big picture of writing grants in current times and discuss the detailed nuances of the proposal writing process. Discover resources for finding grant opportunities. Develop strategies for gaining visibility and building relationships with grantmakers. And finally, discover what makes the difference between a good proposal and a great one. This webinar series is targeted to both beginning grantwriters and those who seek to advance their success, as each session begins with a basic framework and builds in complexity through discussion and discovery. The learning cohort is interactive and learner-centric with hands-on activities and resources for ongoing learning.

Additional Guidelines
- This learning series is intended to support Oregon-based 501(c)(3) all-volunteer to small staffed nonprofits in rural communities statewide.
- Each session will provide nonprofit leaders with vetted information, ideas, and peer support as they navigate a flood of critical decisions they must make in 2021 and beyond.
- Limit is 15 individuals per cohort with no more than two representatives from one organization.
- Participants make a commitment to attend all sessions.

About the Cohort Leader

Allison Shirk, Founder, Spark The Fire Grantwriting Classes Allison Shirk is the Founder, Executive Director and Instructor of Spark the Fire Grantwriting Classes, an organization providing quality grantwriting to more than 1,500 nonprofits and institutions since 2013. Shirk has more than twenty years of experience in grantwriting and nonprofit management and has helped nonprofits raise millions of dollars to make a powerful positive impact on our communities. She is passionate about teaching and provides highly interactive, learner-centric learning experiences. She is an adjunct professor at Seattle Central College and Lower Columbia College. She is an approved, vetted trainer by 501 Commons and the Nonprofit Association of Oregon and is a member of the Grant Professionals Association. Shirk is also a columnist for the Foundation Center, New York. |
