Managing risk means taking a proactive approach to reducing the likelihood or severity of unanticipated events that could prevent a nonprofit from fulfilling its mission. This session will be a useful overview of the range of risks nonprofits face, and will help you begin integrating the principles of risk management into the day-to-day operations of your nonprofit. Risk management issues pertaining to employment practices, volunteer management, governance, facilities management, technology systems, and compliance will be addressed.

About the Presenter
Don Dodson is a Managing Consultant with Aspen Risk Management Group. For 20 years Don has served as a senior-level safety and risk leader. He serves as a hands-on business partner with his clients to develop innovative solutions to safety, risk management, and environmental challenges. Don uses his years of experience to coach clients by identifying opportunities and guiding them through the design and implementation of safety and risk systems and strategies to create a culture that is in alignment with positive business results.
He has developed and implemented innovative approaches to loss prevention and control, employee, supervisor and management training; as well as policy and procedure development. He has also supported clients with specialty disaster preparedness and generalized risk management services
