Title
Leading Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Efforts during a Crisis
Presenter
Alexis James, Consultant and Trainer
With everything that's happening in our world today, you may be wondering how you can lead systemic change and keep your diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts moving forward effectively. How do you move with the urgency required, and thoughtfully and strategically at the same time? In this one-hour session, we will connect with other professionals committed to equity and inclusion. By sharing our hopes and fears, we will lay the groundwork to double down on our values and commitment to equity.
Who Should Attend:
This session is designed for leaders who are leading diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Anyone who is committed to advancing their knowledge in these areas is welcome. If you are newer to these concepts or would find it challenging to enter into a discussion centered on racial equity, please take a look at the suggested pre-reading below.
Suggested pre-reading:
- DEI Core Concepts: NAO's Equity and Inclusion Lens Guide
- Understanding Equity: "The problem with that equity vs. equality graphic you're using"
- Understanding Prejudice, Privilege and Racism: "Of Smog and Moving Walkways: Understanding Prejudice, Privilege and Racism Through the World of Beverly Daniel Tatum"
- Understanding Bias: "How to overcome our biases? Walk boldly toward them" (Ted Talk)

*Space is limited to 500 participants. Please note that a recording of this webinar will be made available on NAO's webinar page for later viewing.
