Please join us on Saturday November 23rd at 6:00pm for a fun packed evening benefiting the work of the Rafiki Village Project. Listen to music, dance, eat, drink, socialize with friends, bid on auction items, gamble on raffle tickets and learn about the Rafiki Village Project; all while supporting a great cause. The music at this year's benefit promises to be outstanding.
Okaidja is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Ghana, West Africa. Okaidja was born into a family of musicians and storytellers.
Continuing and expanding the tradition, he has become a master multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and arranger. His unique artistic vision has led him to a dynamic fusion of traditional and contemporary African rhythms with the diverse music of the African Diaspora. The Rafiki Village Project is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Its mission is to improve health, increase literacy and promote economic prosperity in Tanzanian villages. The Rafiki Village Project is currently working in the village of Gijega, a rural community of subsistence farmers and pastoralists. Poverty, malnutrition, illiteracy, lack of access to clean water, and inadequate health care are among the challenges confronting the villagers.
