Event Description
Title
What’s the Next Step? Starting or Improving Your Planned Giving Program
Presenter
James K. Phelps J.D., ACFRE, JKP Fundraising LLC
Planned giving programs can provide substantial long-term support for an organization, but planned giving often gets put on the back burner as we focus on the most immediate needs and goals. How do you allocate time to planned giving when you are struggling to make your annual giving goal? This session will help you determine your next steps whether you are starting out or looking to improve your current planned giving program.
You will learn:
- basic components of a planned giving program
- about your organization’s current capacity for using planned giving vehicles
- some common and innovative ways to market planned gifts
- how to engage volunteers in the planned giving solicitation process
- easy ways to recognize and steward planned giving donors
This program is designed for those with no or little experience in planned giving. Development staff should encourage board members and executive directors to join them for this presentation.
