Dania Toscano Miwa, President – Toscano Advisors

Dania is the President and co-founder of Toscano Advisors. Her expertise is in the areas of board/leadership training, strategic planning, fundraising, capital campaigns, communication planning, including social media strategy, and recruiting. She has more than 15 years of experience working with/for nonprofits such as the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, American Indian Cancer Foundation Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery, Pollen Midwest, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Animal Humane Society, the American Indian Cancer Foundation, the Minnesota Zoo Foundation, Northside Achievement Zone, Headwaters Foundation for Justice, and The Museum of Russian Art. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota.

James V. Toscano, Principal – Toscano Advisors

Jim has over 55 years of experience in nonprofit management, 40 years of which were as CEO. His expertise includes: strategic planning, governance, outcomes measurement, feasibility studies and resource development in nonprofit organizations. He is a past chair of the Minnesota Charities Review Council and served on over 50 boards and commissions during his career, including the Minnesota Health Care Commission and as Chair of the Medical Education and Research Committee of the State Health Department. A chair and co-chair of the committees that produced the three editions of Minnesota Council of Nonprofit’s “Principles and Practices for Nonprofit Excellence,” he has taught management at the Wharton School, University of Saint Thomas and Hamline University’s Graduate School of Business. He is a graduate of Rutgers College and Yale University and studied survey research at the Bureau of Applied Social Research at Columbia University.
