This workshop explores the legal rights, responsibilities and duties of board members. This information is essential for new board members and an excellent refresher for experienced board members. It will include safeguarding charitable assets, properly managing restricted funds, understanding financial information for board decision making and an overview of the Oregon Attorney General's oversight of nonprofits. The presenters are Susan Bower, Assistant Attorney General, Oregon Department of Justice Charitable Activities Section, Katherine DeYoung, CPA and Kirk Harvey, Chief Investigator, Charitable Activities Section, ODOJ, (Retired).
