Event Description
Title
Ten Practices to Strengthen Your Nonprofit Boards
Presenter
Barb Gibbs, Nonprofit Consultant
In this session we will explore ten practices that will help your Board be more efficient, effective, collegial, and prepared. Taken together, these practices optimize the time and talents of Board members, increase their satisfaction, and improve Board-staff relationships. Each of these practices can be employed regardless of organizational size.
At the end of the day, all Board members should be able to say:
- I know where my organization is going and how it will get there.
- I know what’s expected of me and when it’s expected.
- I know others are doing their part.
- My work is acknowledged, appreciated, and makes a difference
Join us for this session that will expand on the fundamentals of board governance into how to engage effectively as an informed board volunteer.
Area of Nonprofit Excellence - Leadership & Culture and Governance
|
Every learning opportunity NAO offers is aligned with one of nine areas of our Principles and Practices for Nonprofit Excellence that NAO believes are critical to every nonprofit’s effectiveness and success. Diversity, equity and inclusion are essential for a thriving, effective and successful nonprofit; therefore, DE&I is embedded across all nine areas. This event focuses on Leadership & Culture and Governance. For additional resources in this category, visit: Leadership & Culture and Governance. |
