Jim Gochenour, Director of Development
Living Opportunities
Presentation & Continental Breakfast at 8:00
Networking at 9:30
Jim Gouchenour, Development Director, will lead participants through a session spanning great ideas, group discussion, and individual activities—all geared toward sparking innovation in the marketing practices of nonprofit organizations. Topics to be presented include: message and donor development tools, social media best practices, and marketing budget concerns.
To set the tone, Jim will present key definitions for the conversation, and then showcase a real nonprofit organization’s own work in developing good marketing practices. Participants will begin to develop their own best practices by experimenting with some foundational tools that allow them to dive into the inner workings of their own organizations.
Included in the session’s toolkit:
- Samples of organization and donor questionnaires
- Marketing collateral like special events announcements, brochures, and annual reports
- Ideas on how to cultivate relationships and make the most of social media outlets
Every nonprofit organization can benefit from the content presented on how to approach marketing—from understanding the very basics to engaging in strategic planning.
