About the Presenter
Dahnesh Medora serves as Program Director and Consultant for the Nonprofit Association of Oregon. Dahnesh develops and coordinates strategic program initiatives and provides consulting support to nonprofits. As both a consultant and coach, Dahnesh has provided consulting and training on leadership development, organizational change, and cross-cultural effectiveness.
Before joining NAO in 2007, Dahnesh was the Director of Organizational Services for the National Community Development Institute in Oakland, California where he provided capacity building support to community-based organizations working primarily in communities of color. Prior to NCDI, Dahnesh directed external relations at the Tides Center and Foundation in San Francisco and assisted new and emerging nonprofits seeking fiscal sponsorship and infrastructure support. Long interested in support for community-based efforts across the globe, Dahnesh spent time in Nagoya, Japan working with a nonprofit management support organization through a fellowship with the JUCEE Program, and with SENAC in Sao Paulo, Brazil to help support a new program aimed at strengthening grassroots nonprofits.
Dahnesh received his BA in International Affairs at Lewis and Clark College and his MA at Michigan State University where he studied ways nongovernmental organizations are linked to their constituents. Dahnesh has served on a number of nonprofit boards including Youth Action for Global Justice, Community Toolbox for Children's Environmental Health, the Consortium for Global Development, the Berkeley Community Foundation, and the Foundation Center of San Francisco.
