Event Description
Title
Addressing & Mitigating Sexual Harassment and Discrimination in the Workplace
Presenters
Haley Morrison, Partner, Tonkon Torp LLP
Steve Miller, Account Executive, Brown & Brown Northwest Insurance
An up to date look at current trends impacting employers as they navigate the changing employment expectations and environment. Recent events and movements have had a drastic impact on the way society looks at behaviors, especially in the workplace. Employers -nonprofit or for-profit - have an increasing risk and responsibility for not handling situations involving inappropriate behavior with employees, volunteers and even customers.
Questions that we will delve into:
- What policies and procedures do nonprofits need to have in place to mitigate these behaviors and reduce their exposure?
- How can nonprofits protect staff, volunteers and board members, including from liability?
- What are nonprofits' exposures to losses and potential lawsuits?
Target Audience
Nonprofits executives, supervisors, HR directors and/or board members
