Event Description
Title
Data Security for Fiscal and IT Managers
Presenter
Brian Sniffen, Partner, Miller Nash Graham & Dunn LLP
This session will provide a high-level overview of current threats in the cyber landscape, applicable regulations (including the GDPR and California’s new data-privacy law), and concrete action items applicable to nonprofits and tax-exempt organizations. Data security implicates everyone in the organization – from the CEO to marketing professionals and other staff. Anyone that can click on a link in an email, or be tricked into providing their log-in credentials to a cybercriminal, is vulnerable and plays a role! Participants will leave with a list of steps they can take to greatly reduce their organization’s cyber risk. Participants will also gain a better understanding of applicable regulations and some common contract-drafting pitfalls.
Target Audience
This presentation is applicable to a wide variety of nonprofit personnel because data-privacy issues pervade the organization. This includes IT teams, accounting and finance teams, payroll, marketing and executive management and more.
