About this event
This event is provided by Association of Fundraising Professionals Oregon and SW Washington Chapter
“Maximizing Relationships with Clinicians: The Connection Between
Philanthropy and Gratitude” will be presented by National Healthcare
Philanthropy Consultant Randall Hallet on Thursday, August 10, 2 p.m. to 5
p.m. at a Senior Salon presented by the Association of Fundraising
Professionals (AFP) Oregon & Southwest Washington Chapter. The event will be
held at the Lorenzen Conference Center on the Legacy Emanuel Medical Center
Campus, 2801 N Gantenbein Ave, Portland. It will be followed by a social from
5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event is sponsored by Collins Group, a Division of
Campbell & Company, and DonorSearch.
The three-part workshop will examine the grateful patient process: how
successful institutions recognize gratitude, respond to it correctly, and
transition to the philanthropic office. Content will incorporate results of
clinical and psychological research studies and the natural connections
between the patient’s healthcare experience, their desire to say “thank
you.” This session is appropriate for senior-level advancement
professionals and the clinicians they work with and will provide insight into
the factors that make grateful patient fundraising successful for the donor,
the clinician and the institution.
The Salon will include three sessions: The Healing Power of Philanthropy,
Maximizing Relationships with Clinicians: The Connection between Philanthropy
and Gratitude, and Board Engagement: Roles, Metrics, Modeling Behaviors
