About this event
This event is provided by WVDO (Willamette Valley Development Officers)
In philanthropy, words are important. We get appointments, we report on
impact, we close the deal; all with words. Are you using the most powerful
language? How direct should you be in making a discovery call? Are you
summarizing your next steps? How can you tell more effective stories? This
session will include group brainstorming, take-a-ways and homework (make your
own list of powerful words!) and some sample emails to share.
Learning Outcomes:
– A start to your list of power philanthropic words
– Why email is good for teeing up donors for visits and asks
– How language helps draw the donor along—and never surprises them
– Storytelling in a philanthropic setting: the kinds of stories to tell
