About this event

This event is provided by Association of Fundraising Professionals of Oregon and SW Washington

“The Major Gift Culture and What it Takes to Achieve Superstar Status as a
Major Gifts Officer” will be presented on Friday, April 14 at the monthly
luncheon sponsored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP)
Oregon & Southwest Washington Chapter. Networking and luncheon will be held
from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by the program from noon to 1 p.m. The event
will be held at the Multnomah Athletic Club, 1849 SW Salmon Street, Portland,
OR 97205.

Casey Woodard, President and Chief Strategist, Casey Woodard Consulting, LLC,
will present a one-hour workshop on strategy and tactics used by development
professionals who consistently rank in the 75% percentile and above among
their peers nationally and the rarefied air of achieving superstar status as
a Major Gift Officer. From 1991 to 2012, Casey served as administrator of the
Woodard Family Foundation, the 8th oldest foundation in Oregon, created by
his grandfather in 1952. During that time, he worked with philanthropists and
foundations across the country and, in the process, identified the
evolutionary process many families follow and experience in their
philanthropy.

He previously served as chief executive of the Sacred Heart Medical Center
Foundation and system senior vice president for philanthropy. His efforts
raised a combined $165 million for eight PeaceHealth foundations. In addition
to leading a consulting practice, he is faculty member of The Fund Raising
School, a program of the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, at Indiana
University.

The cost for the event is $35 for AFP and NWPGRT members, $25 for AFP Young
Professional members and $50 for nonmembers and guests. Tables of 6 are
available for $250. Pre-registration is required. Online registration is
available at www.afporegon.afpnet.org. For additional information about this
