When starting a nonprofit, people sometimes they want to figure
out if their idea will work before committing to a legal framework and IRS
tax status. Other times they want to get the ball rolling before making that
move. Still other times the work will be limited in scope and not seem to
merit founding a legal structure. In cases like this, using a fiscal sponsor
can be just the ticket. This session explores the idea of fiscal sponsorship
including the benefits and pitfalls.
