In this session we will discuss the three, main tools in
planned giving which are bequests, gift annuities, and charitable trusts.
Each participant will be provided a ‘crib notes’ handout that discusses
what the triggering events are for donors as they consider each of these
tools. We will discuss how to profile donors in our marketing efforts. And
each participant will be given words or phrases donors will often
share—which can then ‘launch’ a discussion about planned giving.
Finally, participants will learn what questions to ask, and how, as they
engage with donors who may be interested in planned giving.
