About this event
This event is provided by Options for Southern Oregon
Please join Options for Southern Oregon on Friday January 20th,
2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the GPHS Performing Arts Center for a special film
screening of the international award-winning documentary I Wish I Was That
Bird. The 50-minute film tells the story of Grants Pass artist James Condos
as he overcomes the daily challenges of mental illness while pursuing his
lifelong dream of becoming an artist. Creatures both real and fantastical are
brought to life through James’ usage of vibrant colors, intriguing patterns
and clever word play. The film paints an intimate portrait of a life colored
by childhood abandonment and violence and redeemed by forgiveness and purpose
through art. Options is proud to bring this powerful, award winning
documentary to Southern Oregon. The public is invited to attend this film
screening opportunity. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and light refreshments
will be served. A display of James’ art will be available for viewing
before and after the screening.
