About this event
This event is provided by Audubon Society
Audubon Society of Portland is excited to welcome our BirdSafe Campaign Coordinator, Mary Coolidge, to the first Nature Night of 2017: Saving Birds and Seeing Stars. Mary has spent a decade studying a wide array of bird species in both urban and rural environments, working to make urban areas more hospitable to wildlife. An estimated 1 billion wild birds die annually in the United States because of window strikes and light pollution. Her talk will give you an expert’s view behind the science of window collisions, the impacts of light pollution, and how we are working to mitigate these hazards. Join us January 10 in Heron Hall for more information on saving birds and seeing stars!
