Oregon companies are well known for their commitment to their communities and helping nonprofits further their missions, but with increased competition for funding, corporate sponsors have to make tough decisions about who to fund and why.

We’ve invited a panel of local corporate sponsors to engage in a conversation focused on the following topics:

  • Why businesses spend money on sponsorships
  • What makes an event or project attractive to sponsors
  • How to connect with sponsorship decision makers
  • How sponsorships differ from grants and contributions
  • How to go beyond episodic sponsorship to a more meaningful partnership

About the Presenters

Mary Ferrell is the founder and Executive Director of Maslow Project. Mary began working with homeless children and families in 2000 as an advocate and program director. After experiencing firsthand the challenges this vulnerable population experienced in accessing critical resources, Mary started Maslow Project as a grassroots effort in 2006 and was founded as a nonprofit organization in 2009. Mary serves in various other community efforts to promote the welfare of children and vulnerable populations.
