This engaging NNCO session will introduce participants to the benefits, risks, rewards, and realistic expectations for creating an earned income, social enterprise venture. Participants will walk away with tools for assessing readiness and determining if it's the right time to move further into the business planning process.
About the Presenters
A former land use planner with an MS in environmental studies, Allison Handler has 20 years of experience with organizations dedicated to land conservation, affordable housing, and community development. Over the past several years, she has worked extensively with housing and community development organizations around the country to develop social enterprise ideas. This includes assessing their readiness to implement them, and putting in motion the plans to test and launch new lines of business.
