Event Details

Presenter
Jim Morris, Senior Consultant, Solid Ground Consulting

Working smarter has never been more important. Nonprofits have always brought passion and a strong values base to their work. Increasingly, community organizations must also bring greater leverage and impact. Alliances, partnerships, and collaborations provide strategic opportunities to increase scale and leverage. Applied in the right way, these complex organizational investments can significantly increase impact and sustainability.

This NNCO session will bring both best practice and current theory about collaboration and partnerships, including details about the balance of risk and reward, a process for effective due diligence, and key conditions for successful collaboration. Key topics will include:

  • The spectrum of collaboration
  • The critical role of culture
  • Three fundamental questions to consider in structured integrations decisions

About the Presenter

Jim Morris

While he considers himself a human resources generalist, Jim Morris’ passion is executive transitions, leadership development and succession planning. Jim helps nonprofit clients find leaders who possess both the job-specific competencies of their position and a commitment to the mission. His consulting practice focuses exclusively on social-purpose organizations with an emphasis on environmental groups and sustainable businesses. Among the numerous organizations he has worked with are nonprofits involved with land conservation, watershed restoration, climate policy, carbon trading and alternative energy.
