About this event
This event is provided by YWCA
Domestic Violence (DV) 101 offers an introduction to the underlying root causes of violence against women. We will define and discuss sexism and misogyny & explore the history of the movement to end violence against women. Looking broadly at the types & general dynamics of violence against women, we will learn about domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and sexual assault. Then we will hone in on domestic violence specifically & discuss the role of an advocate in supporting survivors of abuse.
