About this event
This event is provided by Live Wire Radio
Live Wire featuring Chris Thile, Dave Hill & The Wild Reeds May 25, 2016 at Mississippi Studios.
Live Wire is radio variety for cultural omnivores. It’s music from up-and-coming bands, original comedy, performance and scintillating interviews with writers, filmmakers, comedians and people who think cool thoughts. Hosted by Luke Burbank (Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me, Too Beautiful to Live), the show is taped in front of a live audience and is aired on public radio stations around the country.
Guests include:
Chris Thile – the new host of A Prairie Home Companion, a MacArthur Fellow
and a four-time Grammy Award-winning musician best known for his work with
progressive acoustic trio Nickel Creek and the acoustic folk/progressive
bluegrass quintet Punch Brothers.
Dave Hill – comedian, musician, and writer who has contributed to just about every big-name media outlet such as New York Times, VICE, and VH1. He currently has his own weekly radio show on WFMU and will be releasing an
autobiography this spring about called Dave Hill Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.
The Wild Reeds – LA based band whose tight harmonies got them a Tiny Desk
session at NPR. The girls released their debut album, Blind and Brave, in
2014 with the help of producer Raymond Richards at Red Rockets Glare Studios
(Local Natives, Honey Honey, Dustbowl Revival).
