María Lisa Johnson, Consulting Director
Nonprofit Association of Oregon
Continental Breakfast & Networking at 8:00
Presentation at 8:30
Rapid demographic changes have impacted the way in which nonprofits position and organize to remain effective and relevant within the communities they serve. Does your organization have a plan that helps guide decisions and practice around issues of equity and diversity? Do you have a plan that was completed but never really implemented? This session of the Diversity Leaders Network will help you assess what you need to move forward. We'll learn about:
- Strategies for developing and implementing an equity and diversity plan
- Leadership and structure required to support an equity and diversity plan
- Sample assessments to evaluate your organization’s progress
- Successes and challenges experienced by partner organizations
Plans are important for many reasons: they create a shared vision and organize people around a common approach; they provide a means for evaluating success and effectiveness; and they enable us to identify the resources we need to deliver services and create a welcoming climate. Whether your current plan needs revising, or this is your first effort, we'll help you identify the approach that will work best for your organization, and provide you with an opportunity to learn from one other.
